    ShtLE III* OSTERR GENDARMERIE

I recently aquired a ShtLE III* 1915 OSTERR GENDARMERIE with matching serial numbers barrel, bolt, receiver, nose cap, and sight.
The stock was replaced and has a different number than the rifle and the forend.
Any clues about it's rarity or value? I intend to shoot it as soon as my ammo arrives.
    Thanks for your input, Chip

I can't stop being amazed that much more of those seem to turn up in the US than here in Austriaicon ....

OSTERR GENDARMERIE means Österreichische Gendarmerie, the Austrian Police. In fact they used it in Carinthia/Kärnten. I can't speak if they have any higher value in the US, but here they should bring around € 500.

Purchased this one on an online auction site for $239.
I love the look of the old Enfields.
I have been searching the internet to try to find out the proper markings on the stock disk without much success. If you have any ideas I would appreciate any input.
    Thanks

I acquired a similar B.S.A. 1913 rifle that still had the magazine cut off, many years ago. The brass unit disc was missing and I assume wasn't used by the Austrians. The cocking piece was from a No. 4 rifle that I never got around to replace. A serious Enfield collector talked me into selling the rifle and bayonets, one of which still had the hook. This was all so long ago the prices wouldn't be relative now.
