From CMP Forums, by Bill Ricca:
Stanley Works magazine were not made for Winchester. There were two Ordnance Spare Parts contracts; I have both.
5/44 to 9/44
8/44 to 5/45
Years ago dealers spread the myth that because there was a W on the magazine, it went to Winchester. It made them easier to sell. I do not doubt it may have spread to a published book or two.

Helps, spares it is.
And he is correct, that info is erroneously in books as a Winchester mag
The website often quoted for mags has them as for Winchester also.

M1 carbine. Mine is just a 1943 Inland post arsenal rebuild but it has been a joy to shoot and fun to learn about. It's a tough time to start collecting M1 carbines as the prices are going up. You almost cannot see the import mark on mine just barely visible but the fact it was there made this M1 affordable to me. Again thanks so much to all for the info! I have attached what I hop is a clearer photo of the "U" mark on the mag in question

Paul, Email your address to me and I will send you 3. There marked AI and AI with a Underline New, these Still have cosmoline on them, if you don't mind cleaning them. I might have a few without Cosmoline, if I do I will send those. There New Unissued you will like them.

Frank, I think I've just got one U mag and it's got the Type 1 floor plate. What do those in the pictures have? - Bob

With all of my questions about magazines and which ones were really of WWII vintage Frank decide to go a step further in my education and send me, totally unsolicited and without charge, three magazines in excellent shape. Two are marked with the upside K.I. and the third is marked UU. I’m trying to figure out which base each one has. I think I see a type V, a type III, and maybe a type II but the one I think may be a type II has a letter V or maybe an A stamped in the center of the base. In any event, I really appreciate Frank’s generosity and his help as well as everyone else’s in schooling me in the ways of the M1 Carbine. Obviously I will need another M1 can’t have just one where is the sense in that?

Paul, Thanks for your Comment. Go to that page I posted and at the very Bottom they show all 5 bottom plates. I wanted to send Mags ready to go Mags. Those other Mags were so covered in cosmoline and I didn't want you to have to clean them while I had few New Inland Mags marked K.I. and 1 new Underwood marked UU. Check that website I posted for you and you will will see the Bottom Plates. I hope you enjoy them.
