LEST WE FORGET - WARRENPOINT 27 AUGUST 1979
On this day in 1979 I lost a lot of good friends who are always in my thoughts, and Lord Louis Mountbatten as well on his boat. What a waste and for what?

I am sorry you lost good friends Gil may they rest in peace, that question you asked will be repeated time and again until all terror is defeated and turned to dust.

Montbatten's daughter Patricia Brabourne was our Colonel-in-Chief. Montbatten and her twins also attended our trooping of the color in 1974. She lost one twin and her dad that day, she was never the same herself. She took on a much older look after... I remember it all too well. It all illustrates the futility of that whole war you men fought for those long years.
