    Additions

Jim (browninautorifle) made a point about sharing info and showing bits and bobs of our cartridge collections so here is one that came in last year.
5.56 Ball ammo from Winchester H/S W C C (Winchester Center Fire Cartridge) numerical stamping 8 3 I picked up 7 x 20 round packets from my local G S got 2 packets for $15/ea and the other 5 for nothing.
There is no bullet weight what were they 69 grainers!

Also included in the deal was 4 yellow packets of Bentley .223 55gn which I think I got for $10/packet as that is all I was willing to pay. Will post pics later. Cheers

Two things on that packaging, M193 means 55 grain bullets...and the profile of the bullet is the old profile, 55 gr blunt point. Also as a simple indicator for the troops, the went to a green tip for the M855 ammo so even the loose ammo could be identified easily...the bullets are a very sharp tip too.
    Regards, Jim

No, the WCC 83 is the date. -005 would be the batch(?). Others here know that for sure, where's that ammo tech we have here? M 855 is the new ball, M 856 is tracer...
