He also keeps showing a piston driven bolt carrier, and installs it. That won't work with a gas tube. The marking you see on the mag housing in the beginning is the S&W logo...something's amiss here...with his story. Anyway, it's not that way here...trust me...and I do have some firearms knowledge.
    Regards, Jim

The entire thing is a gag yet when you do a search for these conversions, this is the video that everyone attributes to the possibility of such. No parts are going to be interchangeable between an airsoft and a real firearm. There is one notation of a shipment being seized by the FBI yet even those were found to not be adaptable and they were released.

If that chap who made the video lived in the U.K. he probably would have had a visit from the Police. He wouldn't have needed to worry about getting up to unlock the door to let them in because they most likely would have let themselves in.

As far as restoring deactivated guns to live functional condition is largely an old wives tale.

The only time I am aware this was carried out with some (unfortunate) success, was the criminal underground reactivation of old spec UZI's,to sell to the criminal underworld. They used a machine sbop, obtained lengths of 9mm barrel and cut and chambered it, (I would then hazard a guess) they cut out the deactivated section of the bolt and grafted in a repair section...

I dare say this was done with other similar blow back SMG types, but old spec gas operated rifles/LMG's with cuts welds etc, not a chance!

It might offer you a quantity of firearms grade steel to re-use, but that's it...

As to some people saying airsoft can be converted to live, what utter s**t, the hilarious YouTube video just proves the point, I find it astonishing anyone believed this video was serious!!!

I just didn't get what the hell he was talking about on the video. Aluminium barrels, slapping chapstick on a firearm tapping parts not once, not three times but twice............

The ones we have around here...at least are a different size to real and the measurement and construction of critical parts are vastly different. You'd have to hand me one for me to believe it... I'll just keep my chapstick for it's intended purpose.
    Regards, Jim

I agree 99.99% of the firearms that are made as airsoft guns cannot be converted. That being said there is one AK-47 Airsoft pattern which can be.

I would say IF it were built using real Chinese AK receivers, it might be possible but I doubt they used real AK receivers.
