sorry, big gap with no hit.

A Collector's View - The SMLE Short Magazine Lee Enfield 1903-1989. It is 300 8.5x11 inch pages with 1,000+ photo’s, most in color, and each book is serial-numbered. Covering the SMLE from 1903 to the end of production in India in 1989 it looks at how each model differs and manufacturer differences from a collecting point of view along with the major accessories that could be attached to the rifle. I wasn't aware there were serial numbers availabel to reference 03 NRA sporters etc. A number of years ago I picked up a "sporterized 03" serial 1372748 with a 1929 star gauged barrell. Does any one have a record of this one?

No hit on 1372748. You could order all the parts from Springfield Armory, and someone may have wanted a star gaged barrel on their sporterized rifle.

Sorry about doubling up on the question. Didn't know there was more than one page. Thank you. I really don't care what it was. It is one sweet shooting 03 with a Star gauge barrell and I was lucky enough to find it at a local gun show years ago for a reasonable price. I love to shoot it. It looks good to my Krags.
