Unbelieveable Private Collection Of WW II Commonwealth Firearms

Too cool. Couldn't find this already posted on Milsurps, so:

    Not Your Ordinary Collection

Must be nice to be a billionaire!

When I was very young back in the late '50s (1959, I think) a man in my tiny, rural Midwestern (US) town had a somewhat similar, but more eclectic, collection of military and cowboy firearms displayed in several large rooms of his farmhouse...full auto MGs/SMGs of various types, cowboy Winchesters and six-shooters, Civil War muskets, rifles, and swords, etc., etc. No special security except several large farm dogs, which in those days was probably enough (plus an intruder would face more than one loaded SMG...). I'd just turned old enough to join the Cubs, and learned this was an extremely popular place for my Cub Scout pack to visit. The Scout moms were very happy to have us ooh and aah over his collection (but no touching!).

    My how times have changed.

Oops. Meant to post this in the SMG forum.

These two look interesting. REL 5x and what's the other one?

Almost looks like Dr. Grubb's prismatic sight. Edit: just a folding target sight I see.

The rifle on the left looks to be a Long Branch Scout Sniper rifle which would make that scope an experimental REL 3.5x. That's a very rare bird!

A truly remarkable collection. I envy his ability to display and enjoy it.

The sad reality is that enjoyment often declines in proportion to ease of acquisition, monetarily or otherwise.

Thought I'd bring all the pics because they're good. The link will likely disappear over time and the pics will live on here...

He's got a pair of Berthiers! What a crazy collection. Part of me wants it to exist for eternity untouched, but most of me is bummed they just sit in a rack and aren't in the hands of shooters. Oh well. Appreciate what you have I guess.
I have a lot more experience than expertise, still have both eyes and most of my fingers though.

There's a lot on my blood, sweat and tears in that room. I've been importing and working on his weapons for many years.
