    L42A1 on GB

Curious what others think of this. The description is bare-bones to nonexistent and you can't read any serial numbers very well in the photos.

A Collector's View - The SMLE Short Magazine Lee Enfield 1903-1989. It is 300 8.5x11 inch pages with 1,000+ photo’s, most in color, and each book is serial-numbered. Covering the SMLE from 1903 to the end of production in India in 1989 it looks at how each model differs and manufacturer differences from a collecting point of view along with the major accessories that could be attached to the rifle. You'd often see a Telescope Signaling or GS, (as shown in photos) in the No4T chest but I never saw one as part of an L42 CES. The chest belonged to the 1st Bn Argyll and Sutherland Highlanders.

Aside from missing the chamber cleaning stick and the plastic bottle with the lens cleaning brush, plus the IWS sight bracket, I just wonder what the plastic box with the L1A1 cleaning kit is doing in there. (You can see the combo tool for the SLR in the box.)

Now you come to mention it............., and the duff oil bottle and replica leather sling. But isn't that one of the joys of the L42 and the NoT and many others................. The getting all the bits to make it complete.

As for the little oil bottle thinggy....., these came from Swedenicon with the Carl Gustav 84mm anti-tank rocket launcher. Surey someone could track them down to Sweden couldn't they? We're down to our last half a dozen now
