    1896 Krag SRC almost.

This followed me home from the Baltimore Military show, might as well show it here. An 1896 Kragicon SRC with a slightly sanded stock with poor cartouches. A couple of chips and a small crack in the handguard. Unfortunately the $$$ carbine sight was robbed and a rifle sight replaced. Thats why I said almost. Made it affordable. Tried shooting it the other day and other than it not wanting to chamber loads for my other Krag it shot good. This week I’ll try to work up a load after full length sizing some brass. Has a nice blued extractor.

I have been neck sizing my .30-40 brass with a 308 sizer in order not to overwork the hard to get krag brass keeping it segergated between my other Krags. What works in one is tight in the other. I need to tinker with the new SRC some to figure out where it falls headspace wise. And while I have your ear could you move this thread over to the Kragicon subforum. I didn’t notice there was one, duh. Thx.

We are shooting a BAM/double action revolver match this month along with our regular cas shoot. I want to use the Kragicon SRC and a couple of .455 Smith Hand Ejectors. We are doing a mandatory 5 round reload each stage to keep it fair. Been cleaning and prepping brass today and putting gas cks on my bullets. I’ll start throwing loads and zeroing the Krag tomorrow. I might try a stage with the 1903 Swede if it’s up and running by then.
