This thread is a bit old, but I thought I’d ask some questions all the same.

I need a rear sight /slider calibrated for 7.62mm ammunition for a project.

I have a complete Faz No. 4 rear sight and wanted to know if anyone here knows of somebody who can modify/remark the slider for 7.62?

Or, does anyone know where I can find an original 7.62 slider I’ve seen in some even older threads?

    Thanks much in advance.

    TJ

Allegedly - if you have a 303 sight in 'yards' it is pretty close to the adjustments for 7.62 in 'metres'

Mine are not the best, but they are not too bad. I can think of lots of Enfields I'd rather have but instead of constantly striving for more, sometimes it's good to be satisfied with what one has...

I could make it work, but would rather have a correct 7.62 version.

    Thanks much.

I'm speaking from memory now, but I am pretty sure PL once told me that the datum line on the rear sight cursor was moved 0.07" for the 7.62mm conversions. It wouldn't have the CR number on it, but you could make a perfectly functional sight by removing your cursor, filing out the existing datum line, & remarking it. I'll try & corroborate the figure I've given you. I also have a ton of rear sight cursors if you want a couple to practice on.

I'm not sure about that Enfield Lock because there were hundreds of number prefixes going from AA (clothing) to ZA (radio spares) including BA for rifles, LV etc etc etc
