20.5 years ago I started a little 'homepage' website about 7.62x51mm Stripper Clips in an effort to try and decipher the various makers Markings/Countries. For 6 years I managed to updates to the site, then things went quiet, then the ISP closed down their homepages and web hosting, so I lost access as I had also lost the password, so the site languished and then disappeared.

Like the Phoenix, the site has risen from the ashes. There is more information then you ever needed to know about 7.62 NATO Chargers and Stripper Clips, Bandoleers, Magazine Charging Adaptors, Ammo Boxes, Links and Belts, and at some stage magazines.

Have a look at your own risk and if you see any errors/omissions/mistakes or if you have examples that could be added please let me know. I'm always looking for new examples.

Now all you have to do is go down the rabbit hole and start to check your chargers/stripper clips for the markings. Remember if there is nothing on the back, it could be under the spring. These can be easily removed by pressing in one of the tabs with the nose of a round or a pen and pushing the spring to the side. and there could be a surprise waiting for you.

Does anyone have any FN 7.62x51mm ammunition on original Clips? Especially looking for mark two clips (two pips on each side and phosphated) They wont have any markings, nor will the later 1 pip (Mark 3 Charger).

This makes ID'ing the clip very difficult and I have a number of examples that are languishing in the 'Australian' and 'Indian' Charger pages as that's where they originated from, but I think they are reused clips and could of been supplied by Belgium.

STRIPPER CLIPS....................! Reminds me of when I was writing a book about the Sten Gun. Molly Tree, the daughter of Harold Turpin said something like '.....who'd ever have thought that there was just so much to write about a little gun that my dad designed on the kitchen table over a couple of evenings.....'. Reminds me of stripper clips. Who'd have thought there was so much to write about

Does anyone have any FN 7.62x51mm ammunition on original Clips? Especially looking for mark two clips (two pips on each side and phosphated) They wont have any markings, nor will the later 1 pip (Mark 3 Charger).

Would they have been repurposing leftover .30-06 clips? I ask because I have some clips of the Mark 2 pattern that I use with .30-06 in M1903s.

Generally no as they don't match the official patterns.

Are the clips you use silver/nickle plated? if so they will be those Swedish clips they sell all over eBay They are 'Bright' with 2 pips each side. I think FN even put out 'Mauser' clips that the Mark 2 are based off. If you think that 7.62x51NATO is involved..... its an absolute nightmare collecting others clips trying to differentiate between models... Luckily I don't collect those.
