I had one of the small mags, the whole thing didn't cost me much if anything. I tried to silk purse it to no avail. I saved nothing else from it, I probably got a $20 for the mag.

I've got a 10-22 but can't pry it out of the niece's hands. I wind up with the 62A, and am happy as a clam.

The first rifle I bought my 8/9 year old daughter, who is now 37, was a Ruger 10/22 international w/ black laminate mannlicher stock. She still has that rifle.

I'm not sure where I fit. I don't own either a Model 60 or a 10-22.

My favorite walking around rifle is a Remington Model 12C. Just an elegant gun for hunting squirrels.

A Remington 550-1 lives by the kitchen door to dispatch garden pests. The floating chamber allows it to cycle shorts, longs and long rifle interchangeably. CCI CB shorts function perfectly, are exceptionally quiet, and do not alarm the neighbors.

When it's time to put bullets into very neat and tidy clusters a quite servicable BSA Martini from just before the War makes me look better than I am.

A Remington 550-1

I had one of those too, what a nice rifle. I had the later Remingtons, Nylons of every type and the 552. The new 552 wasn't as nice as the old 550-1. Close but didn't fit me as well.

Marlin Mod 60 gen 3 in a gen 1 stock, walmart gun ,think i bought it in 93ish? stock split at the wrist ,not the best of stocks so i didnt even attempt repair , still have but hunted down a gen 1 Squirrel stock and inlet it to accept the gen s , gen 1 had no bolt release at the trig guard , i can shoot water snakes in the head at 20 feet away with this rifle

Marlin Mod 60 gen 2 ,bought used at a yardsale $100 , cleaned up , gentle stock redo , tried to duplicate the look of the stock on my M1a

Vintage Mossberg Mod 400 lever vintage Oigee , bought this as a resto project , gave $50 , was not functioning , complete redo , blue had rust and light pitting patches , tore it completely down , took the metal to white , buffed the pitting out and did a back yard reblue , Brownells Oxphoblue , parts from gunparts corp got it running , believe the gun is from late 40's early 50's, vintage Oigee with German 3 post commercial small caliber optic , pre WW1 , maybe ww1 era , this rifle i can hit 1 1/2 steel spinners at 30 yards , fun stuff

Springfield 84C , vintage Oigee , this was a tent peg with a questionable bore , another yardsale find $35 , rusty metal throughout , stock had layers of what was porch paint , non functioning , again Gunparts corp parts got it running , tack driver , bore cleaned up amazing after a few passes , total disassemble , took all metal to the white to eradicate the rust , polished out the pitting , one or two spots the pitting i could just ease over as it was bad , new blue hides well , been about 7 years and rust has not reappeared so i got it all , did not take befores because honestly did not think it was coming back from the dead , the stock i used a heat gun and 0000 wool , heat the paint and wipe off paint wihile its hot the wool collects the paint with out removing any wood , this method also works on varnish , shellac and poly , gun is early 1940's , another vintage period Oigee 3 post

Rossi RSM22 Semi Auto .22 mag , always wanted a WMR SA ,so when Rossi came out with it i grabbed it and the .22 LR same day , first outing i already had a SIG 3-12x44 Buckmaster , sighting in the scope with 3 shots , finished the mag , reloaded went to charge a round , charging handle was gone , must have went flying during previous mag , Rossi sent me a new one after but made me invoke the nuclear option to do so ,rifle is Free Float barrel , very accurate , have maybe 300 rds since the new handle so far the rifle runs like a clock and no more magic trick charging handles , i have my own range on my farm so i looked but no way i was finding it in field grass

Marlin 783 .22 mag , ive had this bolt gun for decades , it was my tractor/field gun for many years , i got into AR's and switched to an AR for a farm gun due to the increase in Coyote population , did a face lift on my old friend for a life of service performed very well , many fox , and other vermin including a few fisher cats and mink ,pretty much a safe queen these days only getting play on 22 day

Rossi Rs22 , bought this .22LR same day as the Magnum , billed as a elcheapo , figured it would make a good beater i could leave in the barn in case i forget to bring the AR with me , for a elcheapo this gun performs extremely well , i have at least a brick through this one and i can recall a failure to feed maybe 3 times , which more than likely means ammo , free float barrel , came with very nice fiber optic sights from the factory , very light if you want a carry around gun for the farm

those are finger prints on the reblues they have a deep black in person , i apply oxpho blu in many stages , wipe the metal with alcohol , then apply the blue , wait 3 minutes , wipe with alcohol , 0000 steel wool , and repeated about 10 times , you end up with a deep high polish dark finish

I had a Squires Bingham model16, sort of looked like an AR...for a minute. Same thing happened to it. I thought I was alone in that way. It never worked right for the original owner and when it failed me I removed the mag for resale and tossed it downrange, shot it to bits with an L1A1. I had forgotten that.

I had a Squires Bingham Model 20 once. We called it the 'Mystery rifle' because it was always a mystery how many rounds it would shoot with one depression of the trigger before jamming. My personal best was 7.

I like .22 handguns. My 2 favorites are a couple of High Standards. One is an Olympic .22 short with the original box, paperwork and barrel weights. The other is a Model B U. S. in very nice condition.
