It’s just a fact. I’m glad your rifles have good barrels with throat erosion that’s well in spec. When you get one that’s worn in well from cordite, you’ll surely see the difference.

A Collector's View - The SMLE Short Magazine Lee Enfield 1903-1989. It is 300 8.5x11 inch pages with 1,000+ photo’s, most in color, and each book is serial-numbered. Covering the SMLE from 1903 to the end of production in India in 1989 it looks at how each model differs and manufacturer differences from a collecting point of view along with the major accessories that could be attached to the rifle. For the record this is not a moneymaker, I hope just to break even, eventually, at $80/book plus shipping. In the USA shipping is $5.00 for media mail. I will accept PayPal, Zelle, MO and good old checks (and cash if you want to stop by for a tour!). CLICK BANNER to send me a PM for International pricing and shipping. Manufacturer of various vintage rifle scopes for the 1903 such as our M73G4 (reproduction of the Weaver 330C) and Malcolm 8X Gen II (Unertl reproduction). Several of our scopes are used in the CMP Vintage Sniper competition on top of 1903 rifles. Brian Dick ... Ammo

If your barrel is new or nearly new you likely will be OK with US made ammo. However, if your rifle has seen extended service it will not group for you. Cordite powder is very erosive, and the Army issue bullets are poor target bullets. Add to that what Brian Dickicon wrote about the current RTI run of beaters, then good luck!

My reloads of smk's work well in all 4 of my 303 shooters so I am pretty happy with them, here they are almost impossible to acquire now.
I've also developed loads and won comp's with the Hornady 150Gn SPFB .312" they fly pretty good up to @400m which is the furthest I've shot them.
Here is a pic of the 150 grainer how I seat them to just the bottom of the cannular and medium crimp them they fit in the mag ok and cycle well at least in my rifles, though I have polished up their feed ramps!

That's a common refrain throughout Commonwealth countries. I keep in touch with friends and family in Canadaicon who have the same tale of woe about the dearth of reloading components. Even during the Plandemic I was able to keep feeding my Ross, P14, and my various Lee Enfields here in the U.S.
