Say what you want about Amazon…

I had this old no name 2x on my Eddystone when I got it. The lens were speckled and when I unscrewed the back cover the rear lens fell out in my hand with grain/ boogers of what I assume was the old glue.
So I tossed that scope and the cruddy B-Square mount and took my Pattern 14 to the range. Last night I get on Amazon and find a neat little mount from BadAce and some Vortex low rings for a decent price. Both waiting for me when I got home from work today.
So now that I can see something, all I need now is a lace up or slip on cheek rest that will stay put. I’ll get a range report going, even if it’s terrible.
This is soooo much more fun than golf.

I have a lot more experience than expertise, still have both eyes and most of my fingers though.

A Collector's View - The SMLE Short Magazine Lee Enfield 1903-1989. It is 300 8.5x11 inch pages with 1,000+ photo’s, most in color, and each book is serial-numbered. I greatly appreciate the ease and convenience of shopping at Amazon too but for putting scopes on No. 1's, 2's, 3's, 4's, or 5's no one beats Addley Precision in Ontario, Canadaicon for quality. Many of their scope mounts are no gunsmithing, allowing you to return your rifle to original condition.

To be honest, when it comes to no-smith mounts for the P14/M1917, there's not much to choose between the various offerings available.
I really prefer the Bad Ace offering for the no4/5 though.
