You're quite right: even a partial photo of some burghers to the right of them.

I know, semantics. The right spelling is 'burgers', or 'burger' singular.

I didn't know that museum existed! It's definitely on the list of things to do next time I am in Essex.
    Thanks for the information.

I suspect he could probably be persuaded.....!
Although that would pose problems for me......I'm free pretty well any day except Thursdays.

There's plenty of places to Eat & Drink in Maldon, there's Maldon High Street or pop down to Heybridge Basin where there's the Jolly Sailor and the Old Ship pubs both right on the sea wall. The Jolly Sailor does really nice pub lunches.

Highly recommend a Pint of Maldon Gold

Heybridge Basin also has the Tiptree (Tiptree Jam) Tea Rooms with views over the estuary

All less than 10minutes from the Museum

As the Pythons would say, "that's gonna cause a bit 'of confusion; do you mind if we call 'em burghers to keep it straight?"

I live just up the road from Maldon and it's my favorite museum, they used to have a Cheiftain tank outside with the distinctive Berlin camoflage, sadly now gone.
Also, can confirm everything Simon P said, just would add that if you like seafood try the Maldon Smoke House, it's tucked away by the riverside.

Surpmil, 'burghers' was never in use in that time or later. I really insist, except if you don't want to.

Visited today, very enjoyable trip. Highlights were the X8 SLRs, Enfield XL64 IWs, Stoner 63 LMG config. and a Trials 4T on display.
The collection of british fighting knives is also impressive.
The whole place is very well presented indeed.
