South Korean 30 Carbine Ammo 1983 Dated in Bandoleer

I picked up this bandoleer of South Korean surplus carbine ammo last week at a local gun show. I assume these were made by PMC in 1983. It contained 100 of the 120 rounds in nice functional stripper clips. As a special surprise one stripper was full of Winchester rounds from 1954. I think I'm going to hold on to those for a while maybe until they turn 70. The PMC rounds functioned flawlessly and were instrumental in sighting in my new carbine. They are also Boxer primed and will be reloaded for as long as they last. Enjoy your labor day all.

I've never had any of the Korean surplus carbine ammo, but my understanding is that it's just as good or better than LC. Is the last picture of the WCC 54? - looks like someone annealed the brass. Do you think it's been reloaded? - Bob

I've seen lots of USGI looking like that, I think it's good. Too, the annulus around the primer is intact, primers are original.

No it hasn't been reloaded Bob I believe Jim is correct. It looks to be very clean very original ammo that is possibly in its original stripper clip? Only have the one stripper of it but I wish there was more. Not that there's a problem with the Korean stuff because it worked flawlessly.

I haven't been at this as long as some of you guys, but I've never seen annealed brass (even pictures) on any USGI Carbine ammo before. Maybe some of last 1950's lots from WCC were made that way, but must be pretty rare - even the primers look like the early rounded type such as on .30-06 caliber M1 Ball. I don't... Just through time, I've seen and used carbine ammo that shows annealing. The primers seen here are original issue.
