    BSA Shirley Jungle Carbine Markings.

I have a 1945 BSA Shirley No5 Mk1. It has been in my possession for around 35 years. Finally pulled it from the safe to disassemble, clean and inspect it. It’s all matching and appears to have it’s original barrel. I have two Ian Skennertonicon books for reference but there are some markings on it that so far elude me.
-The unit markings on the butt stock.
    -The U.C.F. marked magazine follower.
    Any assistance would be appreciated!

The markings on the butt are not 'unit markings' they show it had a rebuild at :
Base Workshops Singapore in February(2) 1951

(It was later renamed to "40 Base Workshops")

For comparison here are the markings on my No4T

34 Base Workshop Catterick August 1968

Mine are not the best, but they are not too bad. I can think of lots of Enfields I'd rather have but instead of constantly striving for more, sometimes it's good to be satisfied with what one has...

No green paint anywhere? That's slightly surprising.

UCF will be a subcontractor for this part.

Surpmil, there’s lots of green paint. All of the exposed metal parts have green paint on them.

Mk VII, I figured that UCF was a subcontractor, was hoping to figure out who that was.

It's a Canadianicon follower and spring. I forget what UCF stands for.

As do I , but is it not something like "United Canadianicon Fabrications" ? (That is what popped into my head)

You mean in the nooks and crannies? There is a greenish tint in one of your photos, but someone has cleaned off almost all of it compared to what is normally seen.
