    On this day

On the 11th hour on the 11th day of the 11th month 1918 the war to end all wars ceased.

To all those that gave their lives for world freedom may you find eternal peace in the arms of our Lord.
    We will remember them.
    RIP

I have a Christmas Menu from the 11th Field Artillery stating that they fired a round at 11:11 from the 11 Battery from a piece called "Calamity Jane" to end everything.
Bless all of those that were called and their Families.

Three brothers from Winnipeg, Manitoba all members of the 100th Battalion Winnipeg Grenadiers set sail for Englandicon in 1915. Only one was to survive the war, my grandfather Pvt. John Chalk. His brother, my Great Uncle Pvt. Bert Chalk was grievously wounded by shrapnel and invalided back to Canadaicon only to succumb to Influenza in his weakened state scant days before the Armistice. John's other brother Lt. William Chalk died when he and his pilot of an RE8 reconnaissance aircraft were shot down during 'Bloody April" in 1917. They were in a flight of eight RE8 aircraft that forged ahead despite their fighter cover failing to appear, only to encounter the dreaded Flying Circus of Baron Manfred von Richthofen. The Baron himself recorded two kills during that encounter. It is unknown if my great-uncle's aircraft was brought down by the Red Baron himself or one of the other pilots.

Please take a moment today to reflect on the sacrifices made by so many in service of their country and say a prayer for those still in harm's way.

On this day those in power made sure that the job was left unfinished so that it could resumed after a suitable intermission, to lay waste to the next generations as well.

As far as WW1 Family service goes, my Grand Uncle was with an American Navel group that worked with the White Russians. Sorry, that's about all of the info that I'm aware of on this.

I think that it was the Treaty of Versailles that was the problem.

That was the symptom, the disease is something else.

Don't think it is quite that simple but one disgruntled person's ideals jelled into a public fervor that brainwashed alot of ppl that they would reign supreme for a 1000 years only after their cities and citizens were laid to waste did they realise they were duped, besides the doctrine of the day said the Fuhrer was never wrong.
Thank goodness he never listened to his Generals..................................!

Now the Japaneseicon plans for their conquests was on another scale of barbarism starting with the rape of Nanking with a trumped up event!
