I still marvel at the number of "wrong" ways there are to attach a model 1907 sling!

If you are referring to the old sling on my Peruvianicon Mauser, that is the way it was attached when I got it. I will admit I am not familiar with that type of sling. I would appreciate any pointers on how to attach it properly.

Your sling is a reproduction of the model 1907 sling developed for the US military service rifles (Springfields & Garands. etc.) used through WWII and into the Korean war. It is commonly called a "military sling" and has been a most popular sling used on target and sporting rifles. If you will google "model 1907 sling", you will find pictures of the sling that show the way it is supposed to be attached to a rifle, easier than I can explain. Of course it is not the proper sling for your rifle so you may not be interested.

Thank you for the information about the sling. I will look it up!
I know it is not correct for the rifle but it’s the one my uncle had on it. So….

I actually just did a restoration project with a sporterized 1935 Peruvianicon Rifle over the summer. I found the H band from century arms
    FN 98 Mauser Front Band
I found a close replacement handguard from Apex parts. It's slightly off but was the closest match I could find. It's almost a perfect fit.

Thank you. Nice restoration. I actually finally finished mine as well. Mostly anyway…still need cleaning rod and front sight hood. And maybe an original sling? But I’ll probably keep the USGI leather sling my uncle had on it.

Wow that came out really good. I love the stock. For a cleaning rod I used a VZ24 cleaning rod in mine. It screwed in perfectly and seems to be the correct length. I think I just saw the front sight hood on gunbroker a couple weeks ago. Probably gone now but they probably show up from time to time. For my sling I bought a bunch of the Portuguese leather slings from Numrich. They seem to look close to what a South American Mauser would have.

Thanks. I’ll check the vz24 rod. I haven’t been able to locate the hood.

Is your vz24 rod 14.5” long?

Unfortunately I am traveling right now so I can't measure it. I did go through my order history and I ordered it through sarco and it was listed as a 14 inch vz24 rod. Unfortunately they appear out of stock at the moment. When I get back next week I'll measure it.

I'm curious: Will your Peruvianicon 1935 accept Springfield stripper clips?
