    Universal Carbine Rear Sight Question

Have a guy asking what type Sights will fit his Universal. It's SN 1079xx with the open handle Op Slide and rectangular trigger housing. He's wanting a Adj Sight.

Will any GI or Commercial Adj Site work for him ?

He's looking at this one: M1 Carbine Rear Sight Ajustable | eBay

    Thx,
    Charlie-Painter777

I never saw a Universal with an early adjustable sight, just the later ones. That being said, we didn't get them here as much as the US... I'd put a late adjustable or civilian adjustable on it.

    Thank You Jim,
    I was just told:

"every Universal I have handled took the spec style rear adjustable sight. That might be one of the few things they did not monkey with."
    By Floydthecat.

I thought so I just wanted to hear from the guys with experience with Commercials, Universal in this case.

Merry Christmas to you and yours,

I have a friend who has an early .256 Ferret and was thinking about asking him, but pretty sure his has a scope. One thing I remember about it is the Universal aluminum TH but it's narrow and the stock cutout looks to be the same as on a GI. It also has the later type GI slide. Jim Mock told him at the time (2017) it was the earliest s/n he had seen so far. - Bob
