Anyone know what rifle belongs to this sling

    Howdy Folks,

I have a 51" leather sling. It has leather laces on each side along with a button hook. I've been searching but have had no luck. Search engines are useless in so many cases.

Couple of pics...thanks to anyone that can lead me in the right direction.

    Thanks,
    Mike

I would guess an early Britishicon rifle. Martini, Snider era.

Thanks Aragorn...it's a place a good place to start. I forgot to mention in my post that the button hooks screw together.

Never saw that before, that's a keeper. Old slings are tough. So few survived that there aren't many good records of them.

I'm always trying to find the correct sling for my old rifles from the 1800's and rarely find a place to start.
