Really? You can see the selector and see it's set to single. When on auto it's down lower and forward. The stock is thin from my perception so this could be an arsenal overhaul with all the changes made like type three sight and type three bayonet band. This was what all of them were supposed to look like but very many never did get changed. Many we saw released for sale here in the '70s had flat bolts, "I" cut stocks, flip sights and so on from the beginning. Just a neat pic...

A Collector's View - The SMLE Short Magazine Lee Enfield 1903-1989. It is 300 8.5x11 inch pages with 1,000+ photo’s, most in color, and each book is serial-numbered. Covering the SMLE from 1903 to the end of production in India in 1989 it looks at how each model differs and manufacturer differences from a collecting point of view along with the major accessories that could be attached to the rifle. The selector switch is the only clearly visible feature that distinguishes the M2 from the M1icon, and once you know that the identification is easy.

Sixth "helmet" from right. Is that an 03-A4 sniper rifle with Unertl scope?

Looks to me like a bird was sitting on that wire and in the act of flying off as the pic was taken.
