    Bnz 4 Restoration project

    Restoration project

I posted this a few years back but all the pictures were lost when Milsurps crashed. I came across the pictures in my files so I’m reposting them for history's sake. The stock was a $20 gun show purchase. Other than the obvious forearm amputation, it was in pretty good shape. I experimented with some stains until I got a pretty good match with the buttstock portion. The lower band is from an Israeli K98icon and needs to be replaced.

That came out real nice. I've been consider a similar repair on a (non-original) Kragicon stock. It's full-length rifle stock, but the fit at the lower band is sloppy, about 1/4" gap between the wood and lower band. I've been considering duffle-cutting and fixing. Right now a piece of felt as a shim makes it work.
