curious about front and rear sight differences

One of my Garands has what appears to be checkering on the rear peep and the front sight blade walls are straight...while the other one has a smoother surface on the face of the peep and a curved front sight walls.

I know these are minor details, but I have a great curiosity about details, and I haven't really been able to find much info on this.

    Any info is greatly welcomed.

Possibly they decided to delete the waisted front sight ears as a manufacturing sequence the rear sight hatching or dimpling was for reflection becoming an issue against the aperture from sunlight directly behind the firers like towards sunset probably after feedback from troops or the other way delete it as a process.

IMO the straight ears are fake or a bad repro. I don't think SA made that sight with straight ears.

Here's more on that. The second front sight pic looks to have been beaten flat from a very rough front sight. Probably doesn't even resemble it's former configuration.
