A Collector's View - The SMLE Short Magazine Lee Enfield 1903-1989. It is 300 8.5x11 inch pages with 1,000+ photo’s, most in color, and each book is serial-numbered. Covering the SMLE from 1903 to the end of production in India in 1989 it looks at how each model differs and manufacturer differences from a collecting point of view along with the major accessories that could be attached to the rifle. For the record this is not a moneymaker, I hope just to break even, eventually, at $80/book plus shipping. In the USA shipping is $5.00 for media mail. I will accept PayPal, Zelle, MO and good old checks (and cash if you want to stop by for a tour!). CLICK BANNER to send me a PM for International pricing and shipping. Manufacturer of various vintage rifle scopes for the 1903 such as our M73G4 (reproduction of the Weaver 330C) and Malcolm 8X Gen II (Unertl reproduction). Looks like an honest rifle out of Britishicon service with a mismatch British telescope and bracket.

    For future references:

Manufactured in Canadaicon by Long Branch of Ontario, this is an outstanding 1945 production Long Branch SMLE No. 4 Mk I* (T) sniper rifle. These rifles were used by both the Britishicon and Canadian armies during World War II and the Korean War. The rifle correctly has a rear sight without battle aperture that was fitted to British and Canadian No. 4 Mk I (T) sniper rifles along with the distinctive quick detachable telescopic sight mount. The left of the receiver is marked "No 4 Mk I*T/Long Branch/1945". The serial number, "71L0509" is marked on the left of the butt socket and on the rear of the bolt handle. "672-c" stamped on top of the stock wrist area, with small stamps on the bottom of the wrist area as well as the bottom front of the forend area. The scope tube is marked on top "TEL.STG.No 32 Mk 3/OS.2039A.(maker logo)No19098" in two lines. The scope mount is numbered "B34625" on the left , and both scope rings are correctly matched in sequence. It is complete with a set of original World War II British issue leather scope caps. With cleaning rope and oiler in the buttstock compartment.
“There are invisible rulers who control the destinies of millions. It is not generally realized to what extent the words and actions of our most influential public men are dictated by shrewd persons operating behind the scenes.”

    Edward Bernays, 1928
