Everyone had a cow complaining dealers were buying it all up and selling at a higher price. Yes it depleated the stock on hand. CMPicon hopefully stopped it by placing a limit on it. Old saying " You can't have cake and eat it too".

I'm good with the limits if it means that more of us will have the opportunity to but ammo at CMPicon prices instead of just watching it all go to a handful of dealers and hoarders, most of whom are now the ones bashing anyone who complained about the limits being set too high.

When you see someone objecting to the fact that he cannot buy more than 2400 rounds a year, ask yourself how many open auctions he has going on Gunbroker. As a serious high-power shooter, I know that 2400 rounds is more than enough for any actual shooter to use. That's enough to shoot a 50-round course of fire every other week-end all year long. If you're shooting actual matches on the other week-ends, you get more ammo there. So who actually loses out because of these limits--other than resellers and paranoid stockpilers, I mean?

    Ammo,

I've never bought anything from any of these programs, what are the requirements for buying ammo from them?,I shoot nothing but my reloads and don't really care for factory ammo,I like loading for each individual gun, most of them have own likes and dislikes, just curious how anyone is buying for resale purposes.

Where do you guys come up with the 2400 rds per year number? My math says 1920 per year. Only ammo available is 192rd cans, times ten,I think is 1920

Well, I just got 7 cases at the N. Store in February, had two tins of Lake City just arrive, and have 4 more cases on order since January. That on top of what my inital stock is will put me at around 8-9k rounds. Have seen the writing on the wall for some time, also have kept on buying 7.62 x54r. Still .20 cents a round. Cannot be beat.

But you can only pack so much ammo plus weapons and gear.
And if people know how much you have you might become an involuntary ammo dump.

Yeah, all those lovely gunshow ammo sales parasites.
    Yeah were whiners
they why is the CMPicon out of boxed HXP now? Wonder just how little clipped ammo there really is now.
If your someone that was filling your pockets out of CMP ammo sales - tough.

    Whiner's??

I have not put my pound of whines out. But, I see no reason that reasonable limits can't be imposed. Why not keep the CMPicon stocks of ammo available so everyone can take part and support our shooting activities.
Quite frankly the only thing that amazed and saddened me were the few shooters who apparently have the funds to out buy everyone else and who could care less about leaving anything for their fellow shooters.
I didn't think our sport had that many selfish and self rightous members. It's surprising there are that many with no sense of fair play or of sharing of a valuable asset.
Think about it, who really is helping promote our sport, the people who espouse a fair share for all or the small majority who want it all for themselves.

more ammo to more people = more people shooting.Am I doing the math wrong?
Where to you get more ammo? Did CMPicon announce they're selling more ammo?
