My "new" Mk 1

Wife didn't know what to get me for my birthday & Father's Day so she told me to get my own gift. I found a 1903 Mk 1 on GB & was lucky enough to win the auction. Have not broken it down yet but here is what I have so far:
Serial # 1129XXX
Barrel SA 10-19
according to ViShooters site, looks to be original barrel/receiver combo
ME 2
closes on GO, doesn't come close on NOGO
even black green parkerizing
Mk1 stock - no cartouches

Looking for opinions on how I did & any comments..also, what bolt would be correct for this ole girl? TIA

Your description indicates you did well. The serial number and barrel date do indeed match. Some good pictures, however, would enable us to offer more comments.

OK, picked up my present today...see first thread for general items, found a Mk1 sear & trigger, Mk1 cut-off & spindle. Stock is 2 bolt GG with a "J" in the cutoff notch, & a proof P. Bolt has what looks to be a L & 3 on top of handle root. Still has cosmo under wood line & handguard. Will post pictures as soon as I find my camera. For $800.00, how did I do?

Hey J.B.,

Are those "L" pre-fixed bolts considered as Mark 1 bolts, or just the ones in general use when the Mark ones were manufactured?

The Mk1 parts, indeed, are very hard to come by. You did very well!

While trying to do a data sheet, I found on the striker rod a Ordnance stamp over a "33". I know it is an inspector's mark, but is this a SA, & is this common?
