1903 Drawings

Any one know where I could find copies of a full set of drawings for the 1903 or if they are even available? I'd really like to make a 3-D model of all the parts and the full assembly of the rifle.

Wolfe Publishing Company, publishers of RIFLE and HANDLOADER magazine produced a paperback book called "Manufacture of the MODEL 1903 SPRINGFIELD Service Rifle". Mine has a 1984 publishing date. It has the complete drawings and production methods used manufacturing the 1903. No, mine is not for sale.

Drawings of all components for the Model 1903 along with the methods of manufacturing are found in "Manufacture of the Model 1903 Springfield Service Rifle" from Wolfe Publishing Co. It is probably out of print by now but maybe your Library could get a loaner copy for hyou.

Thanks for the info. I might have to check out the library to see if they can get me that book, as I can't see myself paying $250 for it. I wonder if such a beast exists for the A3 model.

Last time I spoke with Eric, of Nilcolaus Associates, he was had acquired a good number (perhaps most) of the drawings for the A3. He is going to publish them in a book like he has for the M1917 and M1. You could contact him and see how far along he is. I have not checked his website for some time, maybe it is done.

Wow, that's even better than getting it from the library. I'll have to try to model the barrel tonight. Looks like that is the most complicated part.
