Making one out of a No. 4 handguard would result in an absolutely identical No 5 item.
This is the original one I removed as it was loose. You can have it if you want it for the price of the postage.

Villiers and others. We had hundreds of No5's in the Far East and zillions of spare parts including replacement woodwork from the Crown Agents. Much of it converted from No4 wood. The converted No4 handguards were VERY slightly different in that the small gap/distance between the barrel and the wood was greater on the No4 converted handguard than it was on the No5 handguard. Barely noticeable on its own but get a couple together and you'll see it.
Nothing to loose sleep over but from this, and my experience, these handguards (and butts and fore-ends....., done exactly of course) are an approved fit. Even the part numbers were the same. I've mentioned it before, but all of our wood for the hguge Base Workshop FTR's came from Westley Richards.
Go for it 192nd Kid and then let rip on the ranges.......................
