A Collector's View - The SMLE Short Magazine Lee Enfield 1903-1989. It is 300 8.5x11 inch pages with 1,000+ photo’s, most in color, and each book is serial-numbered. Covering the SMLE from 1903 to the end of production in India in 1989 it looks at how each model differs and manufacturer differences from a collecting point of view along with the major accessories that could be attached to the rifle. that definitely looks like the real deal: 2nd contract lowwood, with correctly-stamped pistol grip. everything looks right to me. didn't think a 2nd contract would pull in THAT kind of money, however.

Yes but none of the wood is original and replaced by the Greeks while the one on Ebay is all correct. Still priced way too high.

Last I had seen it, I think it's high bid was $1675.

And Frank: Bruce is right. The current CMP icon

M1A1

's are greek wood. Only the metal is USGI. Where-as this one was USGI wood and metal.

I saw that after I posted. The E-BAY one was still to much. Is CMP icon

out of real USGI wood? I got this last fall at a local auction. $1,800.00

Someone may have bid that one up.....Frank

Frank: on yours, can you post a picture of the left-side with the wire stock extended? pictures of the rivets (front and back) would also be helpful, as well as a picture of the inside of the buttplate.
