Win-13 or Winchester M1D
Which Garand
would you say is rarer, a Win-13 or Winchester Garand M1D? I have a chance to buy either one. Please let me know. Thanks.

Win-13 - just a guess a M1D can be a mix master while a original Win 13 would be hard to come by

-D with Papers by far... 40,000 Win-13's were made. No way there where 40,000 USGI M1-D's made...

I will conceed that there were more Win 13's made but how many survive.
A win 13 had a longer road to travel intact vs a Rebuild Win M1D.
Interesting question to ponder

Thanks guys. I know the Win-13 is correct, but the Win M1D does not have papers and is most likely a rebuild. I am leaning heavily towards the Win-13.

WIN-13 hands down then. Does it have an uncut op rod and wide pad on the trigger housing?
Non-papered M1D is a non-issue.

Lots of guys on this site can make you a very nice Win M1D. It is merely a matter of parts.

if the "papers" are a "certificate of authenticity" run out of a word processor i would not put a whole lot of store in that. Let each weapon speak for itself and buy the one you like the best.

Yes.. I have a bunch of "Certificates of Authenticity" just waiting to be filled in...
the only papers that count are original DD1348, with correct NSN. If not, then send CMP
an email and ask them if the S/N was an actual M1D.
