That's a very nice rifle, good job on the reproduction! I wish I could someday do something like that, but you can't by one of those reproduction stocks here in New York as far as I know. Oh well...

If you had one on a Carbine prior to the passing of the NYS AWB, then it was grandfathered in.

It looks really great, but were not the wire stocks, hinge parts and top hinge cover matte blued, at least on the early ones? The detail on this one is great, like the blued small parts. I just saw a nice khaki repro jump leg case for the M1A1
at Sportsmans Guide. It has the flap cover and leg tie, although it's shown with a full-stock carbine jammed in it.

All my research indicates that the stock metal was parkerized.
