In years past people did take a dedicated "beer bucket" to the local saloon or corner grocery and buy beer to take home for consumption. No one I asked around here was familiar with beer being sold that way so I thought it might be a fun diversion to throw out for discussion.

But around here they call them boats. A boat is a hole in the water that you throw money into constantly.
