Well, it's not like it was ever shot at the range let alone carried by a soldier. If stored properly, why shouldn't it look like new? 
There should be a special place in hell for anybody who would take a virtually unfired carbine and carve it up into something it's not for profit.

anyone with a milling machine can do that to any gun. shame a highwood stock was destroyed to make that thing

When looking at a zoom level of 400%...
You can see it's marked RMC in the slingwell.
There are markings on top of the barrel just in front of the barrel band.
You'll see how coarse the barrels finish is by the band and gets smoother towards the frt sight.
The left side of the flip sight has a W stamped on it.
