Chuckindenver -help!
Chuck: I have a nice '03 that I can not get right with the rear sight. The windage screw will not fit. The lip of the sight base seems Ok, but the windage screw is not sitting properly. The rear sight base is NOT all beat up, either. Any ideas?

Great article on the 03-A3 sight. However, I am having problems with the '03 rear sight.

Can you describe how it is fitting? You probably already know this, but there are four parts to the windage screw: the knob, the threaded rod that is swaged onto the knob and has a flange at the other end, the spring, and the spring cover which acts to locate the assembly within the front lip of the sight base. The spring cover is pressed against the knob when it is pressed into the sight base. The flange on the threaded rod and the spring cover act as bearing surfaces as the knob is turned.

Yes, the lip was ever so slightly bent down. I took a large file and bent the lip up and it worked. Very delicate sight, I could not tell is was bent down with the naked eye. Thank you all for your kind help.
