Inland Question
I saw an early Inland at the gun shop today sn 979xxx. My question is would the barrel behind front sight be stamped Inland and a date? This barrel had no markings at all on it and appeared to be blued. Maybe a rebarreled rifle??

I would say rebarreled. I bought an early Inland last yr and I could find no markings on the barrel except what looked like II stamped on gasport housing. GK

303Nut, 6 diget Inland should have Inland G.M. and month/year. Does it have a P proof mark? Is the entire rifle blued? Possibly they were removed when reblued.....Frank

Frank... the barrel and a flat bolt were blue, the rest appeared parked. The stock was correct (I think) because it had the crossed cannons and the circle P on the grip. It had a No. 3 rear sight and did not have the bayonet lug. I could not find any marks on the barrel at all, not even a import stamp so I figured it must have been rebarreled at some point.

303Nut, I believe some early Inlands were blued, but I think they were much earlier than 979,xxx. I don't know if any G.I. carbine barrels were unmarked. Others will probably way in on it. The bolt and some of the trigger group should be blued. What are they asking?.....Frank

I think it was $699. I would love to have the stock because I have an Inland that needs it.
