The quick story. I had a M1C replica built as a gift about 18 years ago. Got the gun back this past year. It had been sitting in the safe the whole time. He was too ill to really play with it.
I took it over to DGR Gun Restorations (a couple hours from me) for a tech inspection. He tweaked a couple minor things on the rifle; however, the stock had a problem. The trigger guard isn't locking up tight enough on the stock. I could have the stock glass bedded; however, Dean said that would ruin the value of the stock. I'm going to get a new stock because I'm going to shoot this thing.
The question is, what is this stock worth?
It didn't come with the rifle, but it does match the serial number range on the gun. I've checked gunbroker.com; but, there seems to be some unrealistic sellers out there. Or, maybe I'm just not up on Garandpart prices?
A few small dents near the front sling swivel on the right side.
The stock has not been re-finished, and Dean (DGR Gun Restorations) was amazed at it's condition. He wouldn't speculate on the value.
Thanks for any input.
