Need load for 147FMJ in 03A3
I just picked up some 147gr. Pull down bullets, 12.5 cents each
What would come close to duplicating Milsurp ammo ?
What FPS am I looking for ?
I have 3031, Varget and H-335

You are looking for about 2,700 - 2,800 fps for mil spec. I would guess Varget and then 3031, in that order. 3031 at one time was a popular powder for high power match shooting, so you may get some good ideas there.

Go to the Hornady web site and look up the load for Varget and a 150 grain bullet.

Or go with 4064. That is a very good powder that gives good accuracy, and small SDs.
When they tell you to behave, they always forget to specify whether to behave well or badly!

With Varget the book calls for 51 grains max. I load mine at 47 grains and get very good results in my Smith Corona

You can find recommended loads to duplicate the M2 ball ammo on this website:http://web.archive.org/web/200006200...rpo/M1load.htm

I use that bullet with 45 gr. Varget. Easy load on me and rifle. Try 47-48 to match M2 load. Good luck.
