SC bolt?
I am looking to buy my first 1903. The one I'm considering that the owner says has a "7" on the top of the bolt root and "L" on the bottom. I'm not familiar with these markings. Do you know what it is? Thanks

Is the bolt handle swept back slight or "straight"?

It looks slightly swept back. It resides in a 1943 SC receiver and barrel assembly

I am not aware of any bolts which fit that exact description. It could be one of several different bolts. Based on your description, however, the bolt is not likely a Smith-Corona bolt.
Hope this helps.
