Webley Mk.IV Revolver
Where would be a good place to find out about them? (Besides here) I ask as there is no revolver forum listed.
The one I'm looking at is made by Webley&Scott. "War Finish" is about 80% with scattered light surface rust that should clean up nicely. Plastic grips have "webley" in an oval molded in. Perfect bore.
Is it worth $200? I remember when you couldn't give one away. I see some British
military revolvers bringing hundreds nowdays.
Thanks,
Emri

I have one which was my first purchase via the internet. I paid $206 for it about 8 years ago. Mine is a great shooter, really acurate. Just use factory ammo in it, Magtec is reasonably priced. I am working up loads for 38 SW now, but am using a Victory SW for that purpose. I tried to post a couple links, but they are not working. Just do an internet search on the Webley MKIV, information should pop up. Got parts for it like screws and such from Numrich.

Posting Links
Hi garra,
You should be able to 'left click' in the field to the right of the URL (http://...) that's above a web site you want to show a link to, then the URL will highlight. "Right click' anywhere on the highlighted area of the URL and a menu will show up. Left click on 'Copy' and then just 'left click' and 'paste' it in the text box where you write your reply here.
Please let me know if that works, OK?
Emri,
You might try posting your question on the 1911 forum.
Many members there have a great deal of knowledge about other various handguns.

I'd also try the Lee Enfield Forum due to the interest base there.

Hey Emri,
That's not the problem. I think that they are so old that the site has moved, get the old error stating I can't hit that site any more, check my address, hit refresh, call someone else, etc.......I like to visit the site again to insure that my link still works and then cut and paste from there.
Anyway back to your question, $200 is a good price, saw one the other day at Cabelas for $300.00. Wasn't as nice as mine, but mine didn't eject the cartridges when I got it, the PO had a part in backwards.

See Wilkinson Sword research, Webley original factory records archive Don't expect to find too much on the wartime ones, though, no detailed records were kept.

Webley MK1V
Hi, good prices, I'm in Canada
, I just bought one $350 for it and 100 brass. .38 S&W not available in Vancouver but was able to order from Wholesale Sports. I also was able to order a set of dies, so will go that way. I like the Webley, I have a MK11 (Antique but a good shooter), carried in WW1 by my Grandfather.

Just thought I would pop my ugly head in here for a minute.
I am shooting a Webley Mark IV ("War Finish" and all) as well as a couple of Enfields and a pre-Victory Canadian
-contract S&W. In the coming year, it will be THREE Enfields: I just got a Number 2 Mark 1 1933 gun with zero mods.
For ALL of these, I am loading a cast .358 158-grain SWC bullet ahead of 2.1 (two-point-one) grains of Bullseye. BUT I am seating to the OAL of a military Ball round. I think this makes a difference. The results are good: all four guns shooting to point of aim at 15 yards and all four shooting 5 into the 2 inches, each with a single flyer just outside the 2-inch group. I have NO idea where the single flyer from each gun comes from, but I will not volunteer to stand in front of any of them during a test!
Velocity with this load is quite low but the report is mild, recoil is light: fun to shoot and a perfect introduction to big-bore handgunning for children or small ladies. I have a rather-small lady friend and this is the load on which she will learn.... and likely shoot my butt off, if it's like anything else she learns!
Anyway, just thought I would pass the load along. Works very well for me.... and it's cheap!

So good to hear that others have a Webley Mark1V. Mine is a 455cal. and I have over 100 rounds of original ammo. I am considering selling it and am wondering what its approximate value is now. Serial number is just over 81000. I will try to get a photo but am a bit of a novice at putting photos on the site. Also have a P38 from early 1940's , a 44cal Russian
Colt, some little 22's, a Model of 1847 Colt Walker, a 32cal semi auto, etc. My brother has a collection of WW1 and WW2 rifles and supplies. We are hoping to trade, buy and sell.
