MC-1 Pocket Knife - logan/smyth - Dates of manufacture?
Guys,
I'm looking at buying a MC-1 Knife on Ebay.(MC-1 SURVIVAL POCKET KNIFE - LOGAN/SMYTH - 1987)I'm not familular with the company which manufactured this unit.
Is it really a Military U.S. knife?
How rare is this pocket knife? What dates of manufacture?
Any info on this company would be helpful.
Thanks,

Looking in Cole's book it states:
The USAF MC-1 Knife was adopted in 1958, and is officially designated as the "MC-1 SURVIVAL KNIFE"..
Here are the three makers, Camillus, Schrade/Walden, Logan Smyth. Of the three makers, the Logan Smyth appears to be made a bit cruder then the other two. The Camillus handle is a bit brighter color of orange.
As with anything, these have been going up a bit lately. Twenty years ago they were $35/$40. Now in my area I think they are more in the $90/$125 range.

The Logan/Smith knife was made from early 1987 to early 1988. I believe their contract was canceled because of the poor quality.
Nice blades Jim!
