No 32 Mk 1 Scope, (£1600)
Did any members see or were watching this on ebay, a 1941 No32 Mk1 scope which sold for £1600 item No220565136540 , can understand the price IF it had the bracket, but for just the scope !!!!
For the winning bidder to pay so much, he or she must have the rifle waiting for it.
No32 mk1 rare british sniper scope ww2 enfield no4 1941 - eBay (item 220565136540 end time Mar-12-10 06:19:06 PST)

I can depend on the rareity of the maker and like you say, potentially a rifle with its name on it, plus we all keep forgetting 5% of the population is so wealthy cost has no bearing what so ever, for the rest of it must be the scarcity of the brain cells 'common sensitus', or a dose of 'enfield must haveitus'. I get that one a lot, british blood lines make for a genetic weakness.
I seem to remember about 2006/7 T's were worth much more in parts than as a whole rifle.

Maker was KL (Kershaw Ltd) would this have anything to do with the price?

KL is in fact Kodak Ltd of Welwyn in Hertfordshire (pronounced wellin)

My mistake (or Ian Skennerton
,s) Page 231 in the bible of Enfields, KL is under the makers A.K & S who are, A. Kershaw & sons.
Would the Maker Kodak Ltd make it worth £1600

Not only Ske4nnerton made a mistake but I did too. Kodak were based in Hemel Hemstead in Hertfordshire and not Welwyn! Oooooops!
We used to have KL theodolites until a few years ago and they also made the prisms for dial sights too. Am I forgiven?

The Man who never made a mistake never made anything.
Who would you say made the least number of scopes?
