"N" marked barrel?
Was at neighbors house yesterday and he showed me a carbine that he said he got shortly after he was discharged after WWII. At the time I couldn't read the maker but after getting home and checking serials I think it is a late Wi., Other late war/post war changes, it had an N stamped up near the top end of the barrel. Now that I've written this, I'm thinking it was a poorly struck W.
The varnished stock was a PU Underwood with a birch guard. Receiver and barrel was an unusually dark park, not attractive at all.
