PH5C micrometer sight
I am looking for two long axis pins with threaded end to fit the PH5C rear portion to the No4 receiver.
If no original is available, can someone supply info for aftermarket source please.
tks in advance,

Why not use a short metal thread through only the left hand side "ear" it'd be a lot easier to find than a threaded axis pin? I see them working very well on rifles every weekend at the range.

Try a crossbolt from a No4 Mk2 forend. A little long, but could be cut down. You can put the nut on after you screw the bolt through the sight base for a little added security.
Also allows you to pull the backsight "ears" in if you want to close up the boltway a tad.

Because it will be used to secure both of PH5C and also PH rear base on a clone L39 Envoy 7.62.
Yes, a short screw works fine to secure the rear portion of PH5C when used w/o scope base.
Thank you for quick reply.

I am guessing you mean the PH BA20 / 21 scope mount bases ?
The L39 was not normally fitted with a scope, just an AJP 4/47 rear sight.
When I built my Enforcer clone I found that you will not be able to fit both a 5C or 4/47 sight AND a scope as the rear of the sight mount (on the 5c) will be covering the dovetail on the BA mount and you will not be able to get the rings mounted.
That is why the PH5E/4 sight mounting moves the sight rerwards by about an inch on the Enforcer - which did have both a sight and a scope fitted.
See how much further back (in relation to the cocking piece) the sight is on a 5E - first pic compared to a 5C second pic

Mine are not the best, but they are not too bad. I can think of lots of Enfields I'd rather have but instead of constantly striving for more, sometimes it's good to be satisfied with what one has...

I am pretty sure EFD (EDF?) in Kent do them - they post on this board.

Yes, we have them and similar screws for SMLE.

There's a fellow making and selling the long axis pins with threaded end to fit the PH5C on evil bay. Exact copy of the originals. They show up once or twice a month.

Great. As long as I could manage to get both sighting systems on the rifle, I do not mind taking off the vertical sliding arm on the PH5C when using scope.
When using the target rifle metallic sight, I could simply remove scope off rifle and leave mounting system in place.
I will check with short rear mounting screw for PH5C if I have enough clearance to allow for scope use when the sliding arm is removed.

Forgive me if I am wrong, but Alan's earlier comment about the PH5C's sight mount (the bit that stays on the rifle after you have removed the sight arm) covering over part of the dovetail on the BA21 rear base means that if you have the PH5C sight mount on the rifle with a BA21 rear mount, you will not be able to fit the rings to mount a scope. In other words, you would have to remove the sight mount completely before you could fit a scope. The only way you are going to have a set-up with a quickly interchangeable aperture rear sight and a scope on the rifle if you are using the BA21 rear base is to use a PH5E/4, which clears the dovetail. Then again, you would then be working on an Enforcer clone, and would have to either get hold of an Enforcer safety (rocking horse poo), grind a normal one down to fit or put up with not having a functioning safety (this has been discussed here recently).
I, of course, could be talking out of my butt as I am not actually functionally awake right now..
