WWII German "K98-Style" Training BB Gun

Posted over on the Carbine forum, then I realized there are other forums!!

My dad brought back from WWII a German air rifle/bb gun. Marked "MARS 15," with a serial number of J 116328. I can find some information on the interweb, but not much. I do know that it was a training rifle, roughly a copy of the G98.

Can anyone steer me towards any information on it? I'd mostly love to know how to take it apart and clean it--I can see 60+ years of dust down the muzzle........

I remember shooting it a few times as a child, but quickly moved on to the .22-cal German training rifle he brought back (basically a G98 but in .22--and a nail driver in terms of accuracy).

That's the twin of mine--any info on manuals/websites/resources/values???

They were used as training rifles for the Wermacht and the Hitlerjugen. If it has Venus-Waffenbrick stamped on the reciever it is true wartime trainer, if it doesn't it was made after the war for public use.
