    Lucky UK forumers

You lucky forumers should watch BBC2 at 7pm (that's 1900 hrs...) at a programme about master pieces of design and simplification. They research and shoot a Mk3 Sten gun, made by toy makers Lines Brothers. They didn't know much about making guns, but they certainly knew how to punch, press, fold and fabricate. And if you ever had a Raleigh bike as a boy, they made them too!

It's an Army one from Warminster.

Thanks Peter - but - your post was timed at 20:12 hours and the program was at 19:00 hours !!!!!!
Mine are not the best, but they are not too bad. I can think of lots of Enfields I'd rather have but instead of constantly striving for more, sometimes it's good to be satisfied with what one has...

I've got a Mk.3 here with a brazed-on reinforcement piece just rear of the forward end of the cocking-handle slot - and it's not the only one I've seen. Any ideas?

Thanks for the heads up Peter. I've just the set the PVR AND the DVD recorder - just in case.

What a silly time to put it on though. Anyone who is remotely interested will be out eating a curry (me) or down the pub.

For international Viewers, try downloding it from the BBC Iplayer, Programs can usually be downloded just after they have been aired and stay available for a week or more.
