yep. Iraqi.
i've seen that mark on 98ks, but this is the first Enfield i've see with their mark

This is an No4 Mk1 for sale at valleyguns dot com. The rifle is originally marked M47/C 1944, FTR'ed.

No. 1 Mk 3 Ishapore with .... Don't know how it got from Ishapore to Iraq after 1954 but, there it is.

There were thousands upon thousands of these in Iraq recently, from all over the old Empire. including Stens, Brens, old .38 Enfields etc etc. Don't forget that we supplied and equipped the Iraqi Army up to the 60's or so (and trained their Officers too until the 80's).
Is that RNZEME on the badge DSKetcher?
