Correct operating rod for 1.6m Garand
Would a correct operating rod for a Springfield Armory M1
Garand be a -6 Operating rod?
Eventually(when I get the money) I will also be looking for an EMcF original stock. Where is a good place to obtain one of these stocks and what would be the going rate for a decent one?
Thanks,
Jarrod

Yes it would be correct according to Scott Duffs little blue book.

E.McF. stocks are expensive. Very nice ones have been listed recently for around $500.

EMcF stocks
three variations (maybe more)
1) tapered clip latch cut on stock
2) square clip latch cut on stock
3) square clip latch cut on stock and small crossed cannon stamp on bottom flat of the pistol grip

Jarroden - Keep your eyes open at gun shows, gun shops ect. Bargins do, sometimes , turn up. Not to long ago I had a tough choice to make at a gun show. One dealer had a 4.3 mil SA with import mark but also a very nice EMcF stock and another dealer had a IHC Gap Logo, correct except for stock and trigger group. Both were priced about $ 700.00, and that was about all the cash I had.
I went for the IHC. Point is, they do show up, you just have to be lucky. One word of advice, be very carefull when looking for a stock, there are many, many fakes. Take a look at the "Inspection Stamp Quiz" by Rick B
. to get an idea what you are up against. To many dishonest people just looking to steal your money. It is to bad but that is the way it is. Inspection Stamp Quiz

EMcF stock
I have an EMcF stock that is the correct time period for your rifle. Cartouche is light but readable. This is an original EMcF stock, not a restamp and I have pics that show all the EMcF charactistics. I am asking $350.00 plus shipping. PM me if interested and I can send you the pics.
