10 clicks up is okay. I seem to remember 13 being the magic number sor some reason.

Rear sight setting
10 clicks is ok?....for 100 yards??? That seems like alot to me. I have another rifle with an original 50's period stock and only had 6-7 clicks elevation at 200 yards at Camp Perry. Not trying to pick an argument, just obtain good data.

Jason, "Normally," there are between 8 to 12 clicks "up" elevation to zero a Garand
at 100 yards. Some rifles need more clicks, some need less. A tight stock is exactly what you want for the best accuracy. Don't do anything to loosen the stock. Set the elevation, and shoot the rifle! HTH, KarlKW

Using a 6 o'clock hold, my 100yd zero is 10 clicks up from the bottom. Two more clicks up and I am in the center of the 200yd target using the 6 o'clock hold.
Tight stocks are a good thing, provided they are properly fitted. If your rifle is intended for shooting, make sure you properly seal the wood, outside and inside. There is nothing more discouraging then to get caught in a cloud burst on the range, and then have to watch your rounds start moving all over the target as the stock swells.

10 clicks is ok. It won't be an issue until you want to shoot 1000 yards. In that case you adjust the front sight post height so 100 yards like 1 click up.
