Greek HXP Question
Looking at shooting my first JCG match in a couple of weeks. Have bought a very nice SA Garand
with a new Critereon (sp?) barrel. Been shooting HXP M2 Ball through it and the sights are zeroed at 50 yds with a center hold. At 100 yds, it seems to be printing 6 inches above POA (so I'm using a 6 oclock hold). Since my home range is limited to 100-150 yds. I don't know where it will print at two hundred yards. Can anyone tell me what to expect?

So if you are 6" high using a 6 o'clock hold at 100 yards, you'd bring it down 3 clicks and using the same hold will then hit just about center of a SR-1 target. The normal change from a 100 zero to a 200 zero is to go up 2 clicks (correct me someone if I got that wrong), and then using a 6 o'clock hold at 200 yards you'd be about center. Ok so let's do the math 3 clicks down 2 up...computing... so if you did nothing you'd be two inches high of center at 200 yards. OK that's too much math in public, someone double-check me.

Better yet zero it at 25 yards
This should be your 200 yard zero

Zero your rifle at 100yds using the sight picture you intend to use at 200. After establishing your zero, add 2-3 clicks of elevation to the rear sight and you should be in the neighborhood for your 200yd zero. Five sighters in a JCG match are quite sufficient to establish your match zero. Most of the time, after three confimations shots, I begin to shoot for score. Good luck.

So would you sight in using the reduced 200 yd target SR-21 or the 100 yd target like the carbine uses?

The SR-1 is the 200 yard target reduced to 100 yards. I looked at the ALCO Target Company website and it says SR-1 is 200 reduced to 100, SR-21 is 300 reduced to 100, MR-31 is 600 reduced to 100.
